I removed the other fender and well, sigh. Guess I'll be repairing two fenders.

Tearing down my 2.5T from my 2007 xc70. It had a knocking, PCV was backed up with sludge. Today i took the pan off. Metal filings in the filter, the pan was full of sludge, and more Metal.
Im thinking rod bearing material but I haven't gotten that far yet.

Not the nicest welds, buut, some of my mig welders rectifier diodes are on the fritz so it's acting weird, and I use Co2 as shielding gas.

stopped by my indy and got my hands dirty with a customers car there. A power steering pump quite literally exploded and shot out the shaft on a 98 v70. Never seen that failure before. Had 2-3 ball bearings still left in the race.

Bearing shaft race looked fine, the outer race was a bit worn. Swapped in a new pump and remembered the pain of 7-8 bolts holding a pump in from both sides :). Got her done and got rear pads for my s60 so i can do the rear brakes and rotors this weekend.

FUN TIMES.

Got the water pump to cease leaking today. It was pinched and there was a little extra gasket material that was able to be scraped off around the mating surface.

With it all back together, the steering seems to be binding and it definitely needs brakes, engine mounts, and plugs and coils. I drove it .3 miles around the Cul-de-sac, for the first time in approximately four years?

It does look significantly less destroyed than it did when I started, which is also a plus. The last step in all this is painting the fenders and hood so they don’t look completely faded and nasty.
