Moved to Ca, need emissions.
Fails test, replace o2 censor and still fails, in fact emissions were worse than before.
Change mass air flow censor or what?

What sections of the test did you fail? Can you post the results?
An old trick some people I know used to use is to go to the drugstore and buy a couple bottles of rubbing alcohol. Run your fuel tank down to about 1/4 full, add the alcohol to the fuel tank, drive a few miles, then get the smog test done. The alcohol acts an oxygenator and reduces the emissions. As soon as your test is done, fill your tank up all the way to dilute the alcohol content down.

It is the Engine Control Unit.What is an ECU?
Your car is fitted with an on-board diagnostic unit in the engine compartment. Using this you can find out if any fault codes are stored in the ECU.
See: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/chat/p ... c&start=12 for how to locate and use the unit. This does apply to your car althugh it is headed '92 - 740. If youi turn up any codes post them for help.
