Poor quality valves Topic is solved

I ordered two replacement exhaust valves from FCP for the '96 turbo. Paid top price for the OE brand (AE).
This is what I got. Not only do they not look anything like the stock valves with this deep dish, but even this old woodworkers eyes can see a major offset or lack of centering.
I honestly wouldn't except it in my field, but to see this in " precision " machining ??
Needless to say they are going back.

I wonder what one at a dealer counter looks like.

Aren’t they off Centre so that they spin amd keep the seats sealing well?

Well they are the only OE listed ones on FCP. The TRW ones were out of stock.

I THINK, the valve raw casting is just a bit off center to the machining center line. I can't see that as a problem for slow or no rotation motion. Not enough out of center to concern with thin material.
However, if the centerline of the OD of head is not same as stem, they are junk.

^ I think that the stem to OD is probably correct. I can't say for sure since I never unwrapped them.
But piss poor quality none the less. The difference in milling design also troubles me. Even if they weigh the same as the originals, which based on what I've seen so far I'd want to check, the shape is so different. Stock has a shallow wide dimple, while the AE has a much smaller but deeper one. The shoulder that is created with that design seems like it would be more pron to carbon build up, but I really don't know.

Are these Blue Box or OEM supplier? If they are Blue Box it matches what I've been saying about the quality of the OE parts and then they have the cheek to charge 500% of the aftermarket for the privilege!
