XC70 2001 A/C problem

Hi all
My A/C is giving me hassles. When i start the car and i switch the car on the A/C is really nice and cool. Not long after the car has reached operating temp the A/C stops working. The air still comes through the air vents but just not cool. I thought it may be the gas but when the A/C works again is is really cold. The A/C light on the auto climate control panel stays on. Any ideas?

It could be the amount of gas. Get an A/C gauge (auto parts store) and measure the pressure with the A/C running. It should read in the mid 30's (PSI).
