hesitation accel. town driving, 01xc, 125k,

Post by TessaHD »

Just bought 01xc 2 days ago. CarFax show good maintenance, recalls up to date, shipped to USA 7/01. Everything works so far and seemed to be in great condition, so we made the plunge. Comes with full 90 day warranty.

I work close to town and do alot of stopping/starting. There is a definite hesitation (like a full second) before it seems to really grab. Is this normal for this car? Sometimes, just before coming to a complete stop, I feel a little surge in the rpm's. When the car sits idle, the engine has very small surges. The used dealer we bought it from contacted Chapion Volvo in Erie, PA and was told that it's okay as long as the check engine light isn't on, without it being on they wouldn't be able to diagnose it.

How do you feel about this situation? What would you do if in my shoes?

Thanks, in advance!

Since we just bought it I took their word that the fluids were all fine. I'll check it tonight.

Seconded, sounds very much like the ETM. When it finally illuminates the ETS light on your dashboard, take it to the dealer...there's a 10year / 200,000 mile extended warranty on that part.

I called a dealer and was told it had the software update in 06. How long will it take for a service light to come on? He thought it was odd a light wasn't on yet.

There is a SERVICE LIGHT and a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
You mean check engine light, the service light is just that, time for regular service

Ok, check engine light. thanks. I'm just worried that it could be a transmission issue (which I want to surface before my 90 warranty expires.) But with no check engine light lit, there's "nothing wrong" with it.
