Yep, I’m working with their insurance, I just don’t expect there to be a very large check.

Nothing clearly bent or broken, but I can tell the alignment is slightly off now. Will have a shop re-align if I end up finding all the parts and getting it fixed up.

Keep an eye on the steering rack, it may start leaking. Can't see it clearly until the inner boot is full of fluid, but bear in mind the collision may have damaged the rack, too.

Thanks will do. Last thing I want right now is to lower the subframe again after having just done all that for the sway bar..

Sorry to hear this happened to you. As far as replacing bumper, headlights and fender, that is really easy to do on these cars. You can have that done in a weekend.

For finding parts, may I suggest this site:

https://www.car-part.com/

I have had good luck finding body parts that way.

Good luck!

Grabbed the parts from a forum member. The fender was willow green, so I had a body shop repaint (GLS Autobody in Rockville does good work!). Cleaned up the new-to-me-but-super-yellowed-used headlight, and slapped it all together a couple weeks ago.

After an alignment/re-balance, and buying some clips/rivets, the all-in total was around $750.

I’m pretty happy with it honestly. There is a bit of a gap b/w headlight and bumper on the side that was hit - I tried to minimize it, but I think it’s from when the car was in a front end collision several years back that tweaked the frame a bit. Other than that, I feel happy driving it again, and can pocket the other $2100 from insurance for whenever I need to throw in a new valve body or haldex pump + DEM.

Car needs a nice detailing now . . that new fender makes the rest of it look quite a bit older

That's slack in the bumper itself. I push the bumper up with my knee and tighten the bolts. The bumper sits more flush to the headlights this way.

Thanks, I might try to bend some things around. But the part of the frame the bumper bolts to is what is bent from a previous accident — therefore, the main bolt for the driver side of the bumper isn’t even installed (frame pushed back so the bolt can’t reach it). I might grab a longer bolt. But…priorities might prevent that from happening for a long time!

The P2 Volvo front end is friendly if the metal behind it isn’t wrinkled. I’d ask a shop to measure the strut tower and core support, then you can bolt on a painted fender from the same paint code and a bumper cover you’re willing to respray. Headlight costs swing a lot, so check if yours is halogen; if so, a clean used unit plus a tab repair kit can save money, then you finish with a post-repair aim. I wanted the insurer to see a real parts list before I bought anything, and Levin firm here in Philadelphia helped me keep that note short and factual. After that I hunted parts at LKQ and a local Volvo breaker and it penciled under a grand. If the alignment sheet prints straight, you’ll be glad you fixed it.
