Cabin fan not working working - 2001 v70

Post by vcruiser »

Suddenly my cabin fan will not run at all. Auto or manual control has no effect - Auto and Manual controls interact (lights) as if the fan is running but it's not. Thoughts?

ECC can get damaged if a precise sequence of battery dis/reconnect sequence isn't followed on this car.

Thanks - good guess but: No service of any kind. Parked one evening with working fan, dead the next day from dreaded Unknown Forces of Nature...

It's not throwing any OBDC codes - I haven't dragged the laptop and IPD interface out to the driveway yet (weather) - anybody know the extent of on board monitoring for the fan/climate control?

I can try a shotgun fix with a used control unit, but I'd like to feel more certain about the problem before pursuing that option....

The dealer or someone with an expensive VST-2000 scan tool can read the codes on your ECC and clear them or figure out what's wrong. You might be in for a trip to your dealer if it isn't pretty obvious as to why your system is acting up.
