key fob hole too small for keyrings - 2004 XC70

Post by queenbee »

I just bought a 2004 XC70 yesterday and I LOVE it. The key is cool with the switchblade action and integrated remote, but the hole where you normally attach it to a key ring is so small that I can't get any of the key rings I've found so far to go through it. Any advice or url where I can find a skinny key ring that will fit these key fobs?

Put a small ring in it, and attach that to the rest of your keys.

I'm not sure how much extra weight I would want hanging off of the key.
The ignition switch will last longer with less stress from extra keys...
Just a thought.

It's not a lot of keys, just my house key and my little gym card. The problem was the standard round keychains are too thick to go through the hole in the key. I ended up "harvesting" a connector from an old keychain and that worked fine.

Thanks for your replies. I appreciate the help.

It's really designed NOT to have anything hanging off of it.
That very small ring is for the service dept. to hang their tags
