The part 9171600 is just the front face. What is broken is all the stuff behind it. Looks like someone got angry and hit the unit on the left side and broke the knob and the stuff behind or the cable seized and they try to force it and broke it.

Why they sell those else where and on ebay for $400. I tried locating this part yesterday for 20 minutes on volvopartswebstore.com but the web site is not intuitive. Hard to find proper parts. Thank you for the help.

Update. These unit are NLA and are not easy to find inthe US. eBay is one source but people are price gouging / capitalist on these.

$100 is a fair price to pay for something that took you 10 minutes to get from a junkyard, $500 is not. DBTG

I am down to one MCC car and have some spare parts for these if your is broken

I think I have 2 of the front panels for these MCC units, in the 'just in case someone needs one' pile. They are however, likely degrees C units for those of you south of the border.

Since the MCC cars run open loop on the interior temp you don’t get temp markings, so you can write F, C, or Kelvin units on those to match your locale…
