gas smell 02 xc-70

Hi Guys
02 xc70, 65,000
i am starting to get a gas smell after i fill up. it goes away after i burn a little gas and i checked everything i could for leaks. im sure it is not a raw gas leak or it would smell all the time not just when i fill up.
anyone have this problem.

We have a 2001 V70 with a similar problem. We replaced a fuel pump at the dealer for $722 and it solved the problem. We just received our money back from Volvo as they issued a recall for this problem. Check with Volvo to see if there is a recall for your year and model. Also check on geography as our recall was for southwest US ony where the heat is the cause for the malfunction.
