part 3507985

Post by loumarkd »

Does anyone know what the new part number is for this.

It is the rubber housing that the PCT valve sits inside of on the intake hose right before the turbo. I am replacing the PCV system on my 96 850 turbo wagon and this rubber housing is torn up and needs to be replaced. Volvo doesnt have any clue what I am talking about.

Thanks!

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

I put that number into MyVolvoPartsOnline.com's web site and it comes up as a grommet priced at $1.11. Their link is at the top of the forum but not for much longer, so if that is what you want get in and order now. I am going to miss that facility.

Really ?? From $1 up to $28 ?? Granted it's been 16 years, but no way - no how, would I ever pay that kind of $$ for a lousy piece of extruded rubber. Someone is making some serious bank with that kind of markup.
I also had a small leak there, but the problem was solved with a few pennies worth of sealant (or was it chewing gum).

I doubt it was a buck back then, probably an inventory pricing mistake.

That piece is under a lot of vacuum under boost, and you dont want that leaking at all.

Nope. Not buying it (pun pun :) )
The fact that it is under vacuum is what made it even easier to seal up.
A 2800% price increase, more or less, should trigger the "why?" response. Just saying that something isn't adding up.
