I’m looking at a used 2018 XC90 T6 with Thor’s Hammer adaptive headlights. I have had a few Volvos but they all had normal headlights. These look to be super expensive to repair/replace.
I’m not sure I want to buy an 8 year old car with headlights that cost 5k to replace and are not user serviceable.
Anyone have a 2018 with these headlights, who can give me an idea as to their longevity?
Has anyone replaced these headlight assemblies with standard assemblies, successfully?

They are standard, so if you're in a pickle with them, there are likely to be many others in the same boat. That said, I don't recall encountering any chatter about a broken TH headlight, here or FB, or speaking to actual indie techs.
They are the headlights on all SPA cars, which in the US started in 2016 model year. I don't think there was even an upgrade to them on the spec sheet.
