I just had the dealership to replace the timing belt, water pump, oil pump, can seals, serpentine belts, and all the pulleys and tensioners. When I came home and turned the engine off, I noticed loud popping clicks coming from the engine every minute or so. It appears it is coming from the center of the cylinder head. These pops (like spring-loaded pops) are very noticeable when the engine is warming up and/or cooling down (engine off).
I did not notice this before the service. Is this caused by the parts settling down (like the tensioners) or did the dealership messed something up? Did anybody observed similar noise? Any idea what would be the cause and should I be concerned? The car drives fine, no issues ...
Audio file is attached. I have deleted the quiet parts to make the audio shorter.
Thank you for your replies!
