Greetings all-
My GF took my 1999 S80 2.9 away on a short trip. So the car is ~100 miles away from me.
She called in a panic saying the car is intermittently beeping. The sound seems to come from the dashboard.
On the phone I could hear it; a very high-pitched, long Beeeeeeeeeep.
It just started this afternoon. It was fine yesterday, this morning, etc.
It comes and goes; it has happened when she first starts it up, while driving on surface streets, on the freeway, etc. It is irregular; not a beep-beep-beep but a periodic beeeeeeeeeep that can be anywhere from 2-3 seconds or 10+ seconds. There may be anywhere from a few seconds between beeps to maybe several minutes.
There are no warning lights showing anywhere and no text messages in the text window.
She verified that all the doors, trunk and hood are properly closed and latched and that the parking brake is properly released when driving.
For the life of me I can't imagine what it may be.
I realize this is very difficult to diagnose without hearing it yourselves, but does anybody have any thoughts about what it might be?
Thanks in advance!

Is this same sound as seatbelt warning? Then could be a fault in seatbelt.

An update-
The "beeping" appears to be coming from the driver-side dash. It is noticeable but not extremely loud. It may be more of a whistle or squeak than a "beep".
It seems to be brake-related; it doesn't happen every time we apply the brakes, but it occurs while we the brake pedal is being released.
It does *NOT* appear to be coming from under the hood.
I've verified there is plenty of brake fluid (near the max line).
Anybody have any other thoughts?

Could it be the brake booster diaphragm relaxing?
Maybe try listening with the engine off, pumping the brake pedal until the vacuum is gone. See if the noise changes
