Which radiator did you buy? I've got a leaky hose neck on the 06 S60 radiator; it's probably cracked.

I wrangled mine out the top but damn if I could get it back in the same way, gave up and dropped the IC, both go back together,MoVolvos wrote: ↑11 Feb 2026, 20:14.jonesg wrote: ↑11 Feb 2026, 12:52 on turbos , remove bottom front air dam, elec cooling fan, drop the rad and intercooler together from the bottom.
Go back in the same way, a milk crate and blocks of wood will hold it up until you can get it fixed from the top.
Make sure you have new Oring seals for trans lines and new clips for those lines. FCP.
I have some clips and rings sitting around some place intended for another car. The crate is a good idea even though I'm going to attempt removal from the top, thanks.
.
good opportunity to give the IC a draining out.
After wrestling with it for hours I looked at vida and it says out the bottom in a pair, duh.

I don't know which is easier - top or bottom. I did from the top because I do not like laying on the ground working above.

I was think about lifting out the radiator by itself but didn't see how to separate it in the car as everyone removed the Rad and IC as one unit. I don't have access to level ground right now so prefer not to go under the car. In your link you removed this brace "The steel cross brace has many bolts , but these are easy to remove and the brace lifts off. ". I've watched many videos but am not sure if anyone had dealt with this brace?
.
The cross brace is the black steel formed plate between the bumper and the radiator. This is the part that always becomes the tool tray when I work on the engine.

Is that the brace? From your link and "reverend" photo.

1) Is that part a Filter Dryer or Accumulator?
2) Can it be separated so it stays in the car rather than attached to the IC as it comes out with radiator?
3) For some reason from the videos I watched I thought those 4 long bolts was attached to the Condensor?
4) If the 4 bolts are attached to the IC then it can be removed after taking both units out as one? In some videos they were removed while in the car.

Yes, that is the brace to be removed. Multiple screws on top to remove. A few plastic rivets also.MoVolvos wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026, 23:33.volvolugnut wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026, 07:31I may have been first to try this method of removing from the top. I did not have to break the A/C system when I replaced mine.
It went in and out the top. IIRC (it's been awhile), remove fan, undo all the bolts and get the radiator out (tilt back a bit and work it out).
If you look at the V70 video posted above there is several inches of clearance behind the radiator - don't see why it couldn't come out the top with the intercooler left behind. Might be easier to take the two, but I don't think I took the I/C out.

Glad you posted. Saw a video, too many now but one had a removal from top without IC. Will see how well that works when the time comes.
