i have a 740 and i need to change the battery. i've heard about some kind of code that i have to get so that when i install the new battery my radio will work. what is this code and how can i find it for my car?

I suppose it could be some problems to get the code. Probably you will have to ask Volvo for it. One solution is to give some sort of support feeding while changing the battery. You could actually connect a jumper to the battery in another car. In this way you can keep the voltage for the radio memory while changing the battery. But be very careful so you don't make any short circuit. Let one friend just hold the free end of the cables in the air while changing the battery.
