ODO rollback? 07 v70

hey all,
im looking at buying an 07 v70 with around 120k miles.
car looks good for its age and looks like it’s only been driven that much from the pictures I’ve seen of the outside and undercarriage.
my concern however is the carfax report stating a potential odometer rollback.
the car is an 07 and was a corporate vehicle for its first couple years. in that time it looks like it accumulated nearly 100k miles (going off the carfax report).
the services done were entered at the shop listed and I’m wondering if its an error of data entry on their part or if someone did in fact put 100k miles on it the first two years, sell it, and the ODO get rolled back.
after it sold the miles went back to what seem normal for the year at the time to around 20k ish.

can I have volvo verify the actual mileage during a ppi? otherwise, are there any other ways to check? I am flying out of state to get this thing but want to be as certain as possible it is what it’s listed as.
lastly, the dealer said they did the timing belt and the old one looked to be in decent shape. even though it would be 20 years old I’d expect a belt with nearly 200k (if the rollback actually happened) to be very tired and cracked.

If you are too concerned about ODO you can always request independent inspection and request them to look into different modules. Each module will have odometer reading in it. It is a lot of hassle to bring all numbers in all modules to the same number. But honestly speaking, it is old volvo so doubt someone would go for such trouble for little gain. Better see if there is a sticker for timming belt/water pump change, sticker for recent oil change, if all tires are the same. Put aside 8k for repairs and enjoy your new volvo

Someone booted putting the extra 1 into their service report on the last service in 2009

If the dealer is signing a mileage statement you have pretty good recourse if it’s rolled back

What the guys said. If Volvo owned the car when the mileage issue happened, they should have a record where it was serviced. I have the original info for my 2000 V70R from the dealer with the service info on it.

As also suggested, the cluster may have been replaced, however, is a used one was fitted it may have a different mileage on it to the ECM. That can be checked as VoVa stated. If a new one was fitted, the same is true.
