Had many Volvo's over the years. Learned to drive in a 240 wagon, then owned one of my own.

Since then have been through a 440 diesel, 740 wagon, 940 wagon, 940 saloon, 2 x P2 V70 2.4 N/A wagons, a P3 2.4D 185 wagon (great to drive, but hideously unreliable so it didn't stay long), P2 XC90 D5 185, and the current members of the fleet.

Here's my C70, a chance piece of luck acquisition for a mere £1500 a couple of years ago. I saw the ad in a newsagents window and couldn't believe what I was seeing for the price, so before you could say "the Wife will kill you when she finds out" I had my cell phone out my pocket and called him.

It had belonged to an old boy who had it as his sunny day car, his main vehicle being an XC90. He was a retired pilot and was driving less and less due to age and health so was reluctantly selling the C70 due to lack of use - by the time he put it up for sale it was doing less than 50 miles a year. He was also selling his Socata TB20 Trinidad, but that was a bit out of my financial league, not to mention not having a clue how to fly myself! The Pirelli tyres were brand new in appearance, still with 7mm of tread, but were a decade old, thats how little he was using it. First thing I did was fit four brand new boots!

I'm only the second owner. 45k miles, full dealer history, not seen rain since 2009. It spends the winter in a Carcoon in the garage. The Roof comes down in April when it goes for its annual MOT test (a government safety inspection) and back up in October, or November if the weather allows, before it goes into the Carcoon. The undersides get a bi-ennial spray with a Lanolin based anti corrosion solution, which works extremely well and being clear won't hide any corrosion from view.

It's a 2.4T Collection with the carbon-kevlar replacement for the wood trim, auto, ive had her remapped to 235BHP, Jetex pipe (some folk complain about the fit bit theres a lot of adjustability built in and I achieved a perfect fit) and halogen projector headlamps conversion (not pictured.)

The old bus is immaculate in, out, and under the bonnet. It comes out in the dry weather only for car shows, events, and warm summer evening pub runs.

These are disappearing fast and truly mint ones such as this are becoming rare, so I've started to stock up on body panels, trim pieces, etc. No hurry, I scan eBay regularly and when I see a spare part cheap I nab it and store it up in the garage roof for future use.

Also have an XC40 Recharge Twin with the performance option , 448BHP and 670NM. No pic yet as the Missus is currently out in it.
