If not supply problems, price is likely to increase in a while following crude oil price increase. I have seen this happen before and it is generally a slow creep up in price of engine oil and never down much.
I think you can store engine oil forever.

We got a deal at Canadian Tire this week on a limited number of Mobil 1 viscosities. They had 5W-30 as one so I bought 2 jugs which came with an additional liter included for $45 CDN. We have 3 cars that run on this oil but one is due to go on sale soon (Toyota) so the other 2 will be for the 2 x P2's. I already got a deal on Mobile 1 5W-40 Euro spec for the V70R.
Abscate, I can send you that oil when changed as I do it annually and it will have under 1000 miles on it!

I suggest shipping your used oil in a trash bag with zip tie and stick on label.
