SOLD ($3500): 2007 Volvo XC70 with fewer than 123,000 miles. Asking price is $4,800. Offers will be considered.
This was the last year of the all-Swedish origins (P2 platform, 2.5T engine). This car drives well! The engine is peppy, the handling is secure. I love this car in the snow and ice, the four wheel drive is excellent and the wheelbase is long enough to track through the snow. Brake performance and safety issues likewise are excellent.
This car has been in the family for most of its life. My grandfather-in-law purchased it around 2009 with low miles. He became disabled and could not drive it. It came to me and I have used it for the past 5 years. When I received the car it had just over 60k miles, so I have driven it just over 60k miles in 5 years. During this time I have been moving to a pickup truck platform, so the car has had enough work to keep it in good shape, and this explains the low miles.
I was asked if the timing belt had been replaced (100k interval): my mechanic looked last year (June 2025) and saw that it had already been done. The only thing we could think of was to replace the spark plugs. The car drives well and has been my daily driver. There are two minor repairs which I have delayed: the climate control vent door actuator needs to be replaced. The system currently defaults to blowing cold AC correctly from the vents, and the heater core functions fine, but switching to heat requires replacing the sticking actuator. Additionally, there is a squeaky bushing on the front passenger side which can be heard in the driving video (see the Google Photos link for videos and pictures). The car will also need new sway bar ends eventually; I am including two new ones in the sale (four total are needed).
I will include a kit of parts and tools (spark plugs, oil filter wrench, etc.) as well as whatever service records I have.
As a scientist and amateur mechanic I have performed whatever maintenance I can. Over the past 60k miles I have changed the oil at 5k mile interval using Valvoline synthetic 5W-30 with a new filter. There are no error codes other than tire pressure monitoring system. The tires are old and it will need an oil change.
As you can see from the pictures this is an exceptionally clean XC70 with low mileage, original cargo cover, and no rust (despite being a New England car). I drove it over a thousand miles last summer on vacation and it performed flawlessly.
