Welcome to MVS, sfphoto. There was a ring problem on early P3 S60s... I don't know what model year it got fixed but seem to remember it went on for longer than it should have. Here's more on this 2012 S60 T5 blown engine, replaced under Volvo Goodwill.

Avoid 5 cylinder engines from 2015-16. Not sure if it was available in 2017. They had issues with the piston rings and burnt oil. If you look at one find out if the rings have been done. Early 6 cylinders engines 2010-11 had issues with seizing. This tended to happen at lower mileages. I know the local dealer replaced engines an several.

Drain tubes separating at door top level and leaking into the cabin causing electrical issues is another common issue. Check for dampness and electrical quirks. The CEM is low down at the front of the passenger footwell.
