1998 S70 Keyless Remotes

Post by Benji9k »

I've seen these for sale on Ebay, how do I find out if it's an exact match for my car? Also, is there anyway to program them yourself? The dealership and a couple other places all quoted me at least $90, that's like a 2 hours labor charge. Is it really that hard?

It's not hard; it's just hard to find out how :-).

Here's what I've found:
Try this: put your key into ignition turn 5 times on and of without starting the engine. When you turn 5-th time do not turn it off, within 5 seconds press any key on your remote. Check maybe it is going to work.
and
1. Turn the ignition key
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

I've also done the ignition on and off 5 times and leave it in the on position the 5th time. It's mentioned in the owner's manual and works great. You might want to check the owner's manual in the s70 and it might say how to do it. Also in the 850 the red led light on the dash comes on after the 5th turn of the ignition to let you know it's ready to be programmed. I hope some of this helped.
