dashboard lights for heat control and radio

Post by cardz »

Im new to the forum and saw that there was a lot of useful information on here. I have a 2000 Volvo S40 and the light for the heating control and the light for the upper right side of the radio are out. Can those be easily replaced or is this another money maker for the dealership? If someone could let me know I would appreciate it.

It's a money maker for the dealer but I believe you can replace them yourself for much less. Although not for the 40 series, I believe the write-up for the x70 and 850 won't be that much different. Look in the repair database and do a "find" under "Edit" of your browser for "Bulbs."
Good luck and let us know how you fair.

I had no choice but to go the dealership to have the lights fixed. I figured out how to get to the bulbs but couldn't seem to get the bulbs out so rather than break the entire unit that houses the bulbs I decided to break down and spend 100 dollars and have the bulbs replaced. Thanks for the help
