'91 940GLE auto hot stalling

Haven't yet checked the coolant temp sensor. I think it's the one with white connector as shown in previous pic?
Anyways I've a fuel pressure regulator on hand. It's never been replaced, so I did that.
It's been a week now, stalling has not happened (yet?). Did both highway and city driving, day & night. OK so far.
The ambient temp has been pretty chilly lately. Not sure if that has any effect, stalling always happens on a warm day.
Fingers crossed for now.
