J Westy's post about a less-than-stellar used car dealer prompted me to create a new MVS Forums section called Opinion.
Before anything else, let me say I will not let it be abused. If someone has a good or bad experience with a car or parts dealer, they may add their experience for others to read as long as it's not a fabrication or "hatchet job".
Negative Dealer Reviews
It's not a field for baseless accusations or an "axe-grinding" area. If something looks legitimate, it stays. If it looks like a post is meant to "settle a score" I'll remove it as soon as I see it. Also, expect follow-up posts from me (and probably others) challenging the poster's claims.
Positive Dealer Reviews
We here at MVS welcome useful positive reviews as well as negative reviews. But overly-positive posts about dealers will be scrutinized. If you're an owner or employee of a shop, I sell something called "advertising". Please don't try to sneak in fake reviews. I can tell.
Volvo Car Opinion
As for car opinion, this will not be scrutinized as closely as the other forums, for obvious reasons. We all know that Volvo is a mega-company, and nothing we say here will affect its revenue.
MVS Advertisers
MVS advertisers are grown men and women running businesses, and I know they can accept criticism and correct mistakes if they've erred. I will not challenge claims against them any more or less than I'd challenge claims against any retailer.
This Post is Long Enough, Matt
I'd love to see some praise in these new forums. People come to MVS and many times they tell me they're shocked at all the bad things listed here about Volvos. Well, I tell them, "people generally don't come to MVS unless they have a problem, so the vast majority of posts are about Volvo cars' troubles." It would be great to see some praise. I know I'll be writing about the good service at Kathy's Northern European Auto Repair, and how great my 850 is.
Enough writing, here they are:

(I have no idea why Lee is the only moderator in that new forum section. I'll look into that another day when traffic there is greater.)
