Hello,
I want to buy a second hand V70, but can someone tell me which model or year is the best. It should be a diesel and i'm looking for the years 2001-2002-2003.
Thanks in advance!
Alexander

Welcome to MVS.
You've posted in the '93-'00 section so I'm moving your thread.
To answer your question (although we don't have diesels in the U.S., so I'm not familiar with them), generally the newer year model on the V70 the better...they just kept getting better and better.

You got it!
But with any car, make sure you get it checked out thoroughly and it has service records. A neglected Volvo can be a money pit. I will add that at least in the U.S., the first model year of the new design V70 ('01 here) has been known to have transmission issues, but I have no idea if the ones in your country, especially diesels had the same transmission or not, so keep that in mind. The '02's and newer over here have had far less issues with the transmission.

I don't know excatly what you're looking for but as I just told the OP in the other post, I would be happy to find you a great V70 (and year) at about wholesale.
The newer the car the closer it will be to wholesale (less work needed) as I'm now finding with age comes issues on older and higher mileage Volvos. I go thru any and all the cars I sell so while I may have (say a 98) an older V70, the recon costs have become very expensive which is why these car are being traded in.
I just sold a 98 V70 T5, triple black with a 3rd seat, very rare
A lovely wagon cosmetically, but at 109K miles it cost me more then the cost of the car itself to get it to stage 0 and become a GREAT wagon!
This is the norm now not the exception, so if you're now buying, be careful, very careful.
