Yes, my sense of humour is warped.

In Wales all road signs must be in English and Welsh. Most local authorities employ Welsh speakers so there is always someone who can do the translation.

This sign appeared in Swansea near to a large supermarket to direct heavy goods vehicles away from a residential area.

The sign makers asked for the Welsh translation and received a reply by email. The sign was duly made and erected.

Unfortunately, the e-mail response, which was in Welsh, was not the translation. It simply said, "I am not in the office at the moment. Please send any work to be translated".

The sign makers did not speak Welsh so put the reply on the sign which has now been removed to be amended.

Bill.
