Rotors and pads are fine.
On a slow stop, thats when I hears the grind.
read the FAQ page but I have quality pads and rotors.
ABS malfunction cause this?
Are you sure it is the front brakes. I had the same symptoms, grining during slow stops but not in hard braking. Rear pads were worn to the core but with the heavy front bias braking in hard stops, the rear brakes didnt grind, but in slow stops with even brake bias, they would grind!!
Its is coming from the front I just cant figure it out.
Someone did tell once that if the ABS sensors are out of wack it can cause this.
Only happens on slow braking. 10 to 15 mph to a slow stop.
Not a big deal really but I have done alot of restortaton work to the car and this is the last thing that bugs me.
It will NOT be the ABS,
The sound can be caused by two things: dirt or contaminants on the pad surface or the rotor surface, a good cleaning with "brake clean" shoudl do the trick. The second cause is worn or misaligned caliper retaining pins and slides. Make sure they are are clean and well lubricated
