I have a '98 S70 T5:
Does anyone know anything about the green light on the back of the console that shines onto the floor of the back seat? What type of bulb is it? And will I have to take out the whole console to fix it. There's nothing in my owner's manual about this bulb, and I haven't been able to find any info on it.
So whatever you can give me would be great.
Thanks!

You don't have to pull the console to change that one. It's part of the cigarette lighter assembly. If you get your hand underneath the panel (so your hand is between panel and carpet), and pull gently out and slightly up, the panel will pop out. The bulb is Volvo 942327, more affectionally known as a 2721 bulb.TylerS70 wrote:I have a '98 S70 T5:

The light for the passenger seat heater is out. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to replace this one? Anyone have a part number for a replacement? (I didn't see this in the list above).
Oops, this is in a 97 855.

Unfortunately it is a completely different base than the 12velectronics bulbs. I'm not sure what you have that is like Radio Shack but to repair those lamps I buy a 2 pack of Radio Shack part number 272-1092 lamps for $1.79 US and then cut the old lamp out of the socket with a Dremel tool cutoff wheel, just enough to nip through the wires from the lamp to the socket terminals. I then solder the Radio Shack replacements back into the OEM socket.carp-guru wrote:Having been quoted £4.75 +VAT for a bulb for my heated seat switch will these bulbs do the same job.

Any decent wholesale electronics parts supplier should be able to come up with a similar pigtailed lamp that will fit.

Great site, tons of information.Glenspread wrote:Three of my instrument lights were dead - I guess when lights start to go, the others start to follow. I found some great instructions here:
http://www.seawinds.ws/volvo/instrument_cluster.htm
I replaced all 4 of the main bulbs and the one clock back light bulb. The main bulbs are referred to as W3W "wedge" bulbs. They snap in and out to their holder. Pep Boys, AutoZone and others carry them. Look for Sylvania 2821, 12v 3w. $2.99/pkg of 2.
I bought the clock bulb from Volvo as it was only $2.98 (!!).
TIP: there are a LOT of lights in the instrument cluster. Carefully write down which areas are dead before you take everything apart. You want to avoid having to repeat the removal because you missed one (I did).
The link is broken, can I get any help on how to remove the dash / instrument cluster to replace the burnt out lights? Thanks
