1994 940 turbo back passenger door

i was at walmart and i alwawys lock my car cause i have subs and when i came out my passenger side rear door wouldnt unlock and i hav no clue where to start

Obviously something inside the door has jammed or come apart. Have you tried giving the rear edge of the door a good hard blow from the inside? Sometimes if something has jammed it will free it.

The only other way to tackle this is to remove the inner panel and find out what is causing the problem.

On some Volvo models it is possible to remove the panel with the door shut. Unfortunately the 940 is not one of them as some brilliant design work has put three of the retaining clips under the bottom edge of the door and you also need to remove the red warning lamp from the rear edge of the door before the inner panel will come off.

This is not a job I have tackled myself but hopefully someone else has and will come in with some help.

I think it must have freed its self because its working fine now. I shoulnt have bought the car in the first place. the door is the least of the problems
