850GLT Heater Core

Post by DCintraining »

Hello all,

Anyone replace the heater core on an 850? I'm looking to replace mine, but I don't know how hard of a job it is. I hear it's not fun, and about a $1000 job at a local mechanic. Any words of encouragement or discouragement?

Thanks!

Eoin

Unless you are a very very skilled do it yourselfer, it's a job for the professionals. You have to remove the entire dash to get access to the heater core (and A/C evaporator).

The part is not expensive (less than $100), but the job takes about 8 hours. You have to remove the steering wheel and airbags. You also have to remove the entire dash.

The only way to find all the hidden fasteners is to get a manual. Good luck.
