Recall Number

Is anyone familiar with Volvo Recall S24049
Description: Heatshild attac 850

Not quite sure what it is cause I cannot find it posted anywhere.
What is this recall? I know I do have a heat shield the has fallen over top of the muffler. Hope this is affected for a free fix

I know there was a piece that would rub near the gas tank causing a hole in the filler tube and thus gas fumes and possibly dangerous scenario...wonder if this is the recall on the gas tank where they add a piece to keep this from happening?

Hello, My name is Liam. I am only new to this forum but i hope this helps; We have strict public disclosure laws here in Australia and manufacturer recalls are very much apart of that. These are international safety recalls, affecting Europe, U.S and Asian model cars, and all of these are current:

*The recall you are talking about is a current safety recall for 94-96 model 850's; The heater shield may dislodge and the shield itself falls down, making contact with the steering assembly and reducing the affectiveness of the vehicle to turn right. SEE YOUR VOLVO DEALER!!! (they should fix it for free)

a few other safety recalls,

*The throttle may ice up and jam open on 1994 850 turbo's under extreme weather conditions; the recall covers cars with VIN numbers 2100400 - 2169367 then 2011800 - 2073165

*the throttle may jam open on 1996-97 models, the problem is caused by loose throttle plate retaining screws

* passenger airbags may go off without warning on 1997-98 models, the cause is static electricity and is subject to a current safety recall.

*Headlight switch may fail without warning, this is a safety recall covering all models in the 850 range.
