2001 S60 2.4T Oxygen Sensor

I have this slight 'sluggishness' in the transmission when cruising (car has 60100 miles). Let me explain what I mean by 'sluggish': it feels like "DOWN SHIFTING" ...but this is VERY subtle, not like the car jerks, but you 'feel' the car slowing for a half a second before it picks up.

Drove the car without the 'cruise ON' to see if it was something to do with the cruise control, but same behavior.

One of my friends suggested that it could be the oxygen sensor...how can I verify if this is a 'lazy' oxygen sensor (as my friend put it).

The '01 transmission had a stop-neutral feature built in...when you came to a stop it actually shifted into neutral and then when you took off it took a bit of pressure to get back into gear. This is what you might be experiencing. Many '01 owners had trouble with this and Volvo finally realized that this was a poor design and now has software that gets rid of this "feature." I would go to your dealer to see if the software upgrade has ever been applied and if it hasn't, I would get it done. Left the way it is, it could be harmful to your car in the long run. That said, it's probably not an 02 sensor issue. O2 sensor problems are much less subtle and accompanying this is decreased mpg.
