1988 240 driver's side glass

Post by dannym »

Well, it's been a while.
First I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!!
After 2 seperate tire blowouts on the highway we decided to replace all 4 tires and all the shaking and shuddering went away!
I could almost kick myself because I thought about getting them balanced.

But the saga continues...
Last night my girlfriend calls me and tells me the drivers window and the left passengers window are broken. Evidently the work of vandals.
So were going to the junkyard tomorow to look for windows. My question is what models, body styles & years can I cross reference for new windows?
1975 - 1993 240
1983 - 1992 740
1982 - 1991 760
1990 - 1998 940
1990 - 1998 960
1997 - 1998 V90/S90
Looking at the list can I get a window from any 240 DL/GL from 1975 - 1993?
Are the 240,740 & 760 body styles the same?

Thanks

Danny

Danny,

I have split this as the topics are not directly related.

The glass on the 244 and 245 doors is interchangeable from 1975 to 1993. Avoid the 260s as some are different.

The other models you quote are definitely not the same as the 240 as the body styles are different.

Everything went well with the windows this weekend. I was suprised how easy it was to replace them!

They were made in the good old days when DIY repairs were the norm.

When I see what is in the modern basic car I shudder and start counting the costs that owners must bear to keep their 'prized' possessions on the road.

Ah well, everybody says I am a dinosaur. Even my granddaughter agrees but says I am a cuddly dinosaur.

Good to know the repair went well.
