V70 2001-on ?

I have heard mumorings that the 2001 V70s are not as good as pre-2001. Anyone comment/had experience on this, as I was quite looking forward to getting a later year V70?

2001's are basically junk for a boatload of issues.
02's are a lot better but...
2003 is when the Haldex AWD started and the transmission became better, so from 03 to 07 each year they became better and better.

Is it just the transmission up to 2003 that was at issue on the AWD or are there issues from 2001 onwards? I heard from a Volvo mechanic, the AWD used the standard Turbo transmission, and was not really up to the job (2001-2003?). Dont want an AWD really, so for me this would be a mute issue.
Don't suppose there is a good source of information on problems with the new design V70's 01 onwards so I know what to look for?

BTW, though the 2001 V70 with 83Km for $6K was a little too good to be true

Really, if not considering a AWD, I don't think it's '01 onward- just the '01. They have tranny problems as well as electrical glitches. I would avoid this year. Of course, some have not had any issue at all and if you find one with a manual tranny, that's a whole different animal and I've never heard of those trannies having problems.
