Does the car run??
There is a way to check for exhaust fumes in the coolant in a running engine. Use a universal block tester. These are available at most auto parts stores. If the test shows exhaust in the coolant, head removal is a given and a new head gasket will be part of the reinstallation. But the problem could be either the gasket itself or cracks in the head, most likely from cracked exhaust valve seats. Cracked valves seats can happen if the car has been driven for extended periods with the turbo overboosting from a faulty wastegate.
Should you get the car and remove the head, have the head inspected and/or reworked by a good machine shop. Do not just replace the gasket without an inspection.
Let us know what you do and what you find.
