Model confusion

Post by Marco »

Hello,
I'm Marco from South Carolina. New to the forum, just wanted to introduce myself and ask my first question.

Actually, most of my questions have been answered in the repair database -- Thanks so much to all concerned for that resource!

My Volvo is a 1998 V70 Cross Country. I notice when looking up parts at FCP Groton that they come up as for a 1998 XC70. I thought the XC70 came out in a later year.

So, what model did I buy? Is the V70 XC the same as an XC70?

Welcome to MVS, Marco,
Although technically, incorrect, both cars are the same- buy parts with peace of mind, there was only one XC in '98.

Groton is just very lazy
The XC70 replaced the V70XC in 2003.
Nothing is different except a reversal of the nomenclature.
