New User - Question about OBD codes

Post by smithy »

Hello all! I am a new user on this forum and I chose it because I got the most information about the problems I am having. Currently, my wife and I own two Volvos. Mine is a '94 850 wagon and hers is a '98 S70 turbo. We love them but there comes a time in every car's life when they need a few repairs. To make a long story short, I have a new check engine light showing in my wagon. In the Haynes manual it shows how to pull codes using the OBD unit in the engine compartment but only mentions using the #6 terminal. My question is two-fold: 1-Do all of the numbered terminals pull codes for different systems? and 2-What is the B side of the terminal for?
Thanks for any information!
