How do I know whether my Volvo S80 2002 is equipped with 4C suspension?

To the best of my knowledge, no North American market 2002 S80s featured 4C.

If you want to be completely sure, pull and post the codes from the vehicle ID plate (left side underhood; see diagram) and get code positions 20, 21, 23, and 24.

The name plate has 6X3C9231 at the positions 20 to 27 you stated. I can't figure out the exact positioning of the figures.

Wrong diagram on my part: your car has an 8-digit ID string. No matter, your front suspension code is 6X (shock absorber part 8667250) and your rear is C9 (shock absorber part number 30736622). Your car has neither the Nivomat self-leveling rear suspension or 4C. Hope this helps.

The diagram was from VADIS, the part codes I looked up in VIDA 2008DU1. All information should be in VADIS for your model year, including part codes.

VIDA (Vehicle Information and Diagnostics for Aftersales) is Volvo's replacement for VADIS--it's the new diagnostic system. 2008DU1 is the version I used to obtain your information.
