need help on replacement of alt, how to adjust. what is the strange bolt with bracket attached

I assume "the strange bolt with bracket attached" is #18 and the bracket is #11. It is the positive tensioner.

Disconnect the battery negative lead, ensuring you have the radio code if applicable.
Slacken off bolt #18 but do not remove it. Slacken bolts #7 and #15.
Remove the drive belt.
Disconnect the leads on the rear of the alternator.
Remove the bolts #7 and #15 which have both got nuts on the other ends.
Remove the alternator.

Replacement is a reverse of the above. To tension the alternator you may have to slightly slacken bolts #7 and #15 to allow the alternator to pivot then tension the belt by using bolt #18.
Check the tension with thumb pressure on the centre of the longest belt run. It should deflect between 0.2 and 0.4 of an inch.
Tighten bolts #7 and #15.
