so don't laugh, here is my list,
P0445
P0448
P0245
P0037
P0031
P1332
P0136
P1655
i did search and found a little. some brief insight and direction would be much appreciated.
on the bright side, the p1171 that has plagued me for better than a year is gone.
list of codes, insight and help please

so i cleared the codes and they came back immediately.
another sympton is that the acceleration seems very anemic. so i was thinking this may be due to the turbo solenoid which one of the codes indicates. i believe this solenoid is located somewhere near the airbox. can somebody point me in the right direction?

P0245 is the turbocharger control valve - signal low indicating a short circuit to earth (ground) in the signal cable. I have two publications giving the location - 1 beside the airbox and 2 at the rear of the engine so not much help there I'm afraid.
1. P0031 is the front heated oxygen sensor signal too low.
2. P0037 is the rear heated oxygen sensor signal too low.
3. P0136 is the rear heated oxygen sensor signal missing.
4. P0445 is the evap valve signal too low
5. P0448 is the evap canister shut off valve signal too low or signal too high.
6. P1655 Camshaft reset valve signal too low.
7. P1332 not listed.
Possible causes:
1. Short circuit to earth (ground) in the signal cable or defective HO2S. First check would be wiring.
2. Same as 1.
3. Open circuit in the signal cable; open circuit in the earth lead; defective HO2S; contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors.
4. Short circuit to earth in the signal cable.
5. If signal too low short circuit to earth in the signal cable. If signal too high short circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable; defective evap canister valve.
6. Short circuit to earth in the signal cable; power supply cable short circuited to earth; defective camshaft reset valve.
Have you washed your engine or run through flood water recently?
Bill.

thanks bill.
i will start probing leads for shorts to ground.
no water on the engine at all recently.
i am a bit concerned about the cat because fuel economy seems to be down a bit. i think she is running rich.

first, i replaced both o2 sensor and the maf sensor, acceleration seems to be back to normal. i am down to 6 codes, which i tend to think are related since all the faults are indicating low signals.
P0445
P0448
P0245
P0037
P0031
P1655
is there a common harness for these sensors? i am at a bit of a loss as to where to look and probe.
there is a vacuum operated diaphragm valve which operates the waste gate on the turbo, but i do not see an electrical connections.
any thoughts, insight?

so, all 8 codes are back. however, the car seems to be driving fine.
i did find a leak in the vacuum line to the turbo solenoid. i patched this but not luck eliminating codes. when does this solenoid get activated. with the engine running, there is only 3.5 volts at this connector. i would tend to think it is at higher revs when this valve is energized.
i also checked the voltage at the evap solenoid mounted on the rad. the connector only has 3.5 volts with the engine running. when does this valve get energized?

update
recap:
had/have the following codes,
P0445
P0448
P0245
P0037
P0031
P1332
P0136
P1655
and acceleration was anemic.
actions: replaced both o2 sensors and the maf sensor
result: acceleration back to normal but all codes remain
found a vacuum leak at the turbo control solenoid, fixed, codes remain. valve appears to be functioning properly.
found the ground wire to the camshaft sensor pinched between head and plastic cover, fixed, codes remain (since ground wire figured this would not resolve codes)
cannot find anymore vacuum leaks in engine compartment. visually inspected and also sprayed intake cleaner to see if idle stumbled
there does not appear to be a leak in the j hose. there are 2 hoses, smaller to the intake and larger, i am assuming from the fuel tank. i removed the smaller at the canister at rear and blew into it. with engine off, i could not blow through it. the valve on the radiator shroud is functioning properly.
once i clear the codes, they come back immediately upon engine start. there does not appear to be any shorts to ground in signal lines from sensors.
the engine seems to idle and drive fine. any thoughts?

I know this is a silly question but after you fixed what you thought was wrong, did you clear your codes?
EDIT: I just checked VADIS and the voltage at both the TCV and the EPV are suppose to be same as battery (12+ Volts). I suspect you have a wiring issues...something is falsely grounding some of your wiring. Check closely for corrosion and the like too...and don't overlook your grounding straps.

i have cleared codes many times. after each step, i clear codes and they always return.MadeInJapan wrote:I know this is a silly question but after you fixed what you thought was wrong, did you clear your codes?

i am suspecting a wiring issue.
when are both the tcv and epv to be energized? with the engine running at idle, both valve connectors only have 3.5 volts. i would suspect the tcv does not energize until higher revs but the epv i would think energizes immediately upon start up.
also, when i check continuity between the ground lead on the connectors and ground, i am reading 8 ohms. not a lot but should it be a dead short? i am thinking ground may be floating a bit.

This file shows specs for ignition on and at idle. Hope it helps: OOPS! Now I see EVAP Shut-Off Valve has signal of 3.8V, so I don't think you're off on that one- just your TCV signal. Don't think you should have 8ohms on ground...should be "0," I would think (could be wrong- but don't think so).
