chirping sounds!

Hi
V70 estate, 1999 with a 2435cc engine, rt hand drive keeps making noises when i change gear, usually when the engine is warmed up. The noises as above appear to come from around the front & rear wheel areas. Noises are high pithched, short sonding but not grinding metal. Can only here it when the windows are down! Does any1 know what the problem is? Could it be throttle problems?

how about some more information, its a little hard to work out what the problem is!

The noises as above appear to come from around the front & rear wheel areas. Noises are high pitched and sound exactly like a short 'chirrup' - but not harsh like grinding metal. Can only here it when the windows are down. There is also quite a lot of play in the steering at present and the tracking needs sorting. I have had the throttle unit replaced but still no change.
Does any1 know what the problem is?
