just bought a volvo s80 2000 with 80k miles,does anyone know when the timing belt needs changing??

Change at 105,000 miles (168,000 kms).

Having looked at your name I wondered if the "Dublin" part is because you are in Ireland. If so the UK spec cars are different, as usual.

Timing belt and tensioner for the 2000 - 2001 models is changed at 90,000 miles or 8 years with the next change at 186,000 or a further 8 years for the petrol engines. The 2.5 diesel engine belts have to be checked and adjusted every 20,000 miles or 2 years with a change for model year 1999+ at 80,000 miles or 8 years. The injection pump belt is checked and changed at the same intervals. The 2.4 diesel engine belts do not need the 20,000 mile check and are changed at 96,000 miles or 8 years.

Now, haven't the nice people at Volvo made that job simple and really easy to understand?
