Radiator fan not working

Post by rodfarah »

I have a '94 850 estate 2.5 20V petrol. Radiator fan is not coming on. bypassing relays and connecting straight to battery, it works fine. I have replaced thermostat, temp switch and now wondering what i should do. any suggestions? Cheers, Rod

Chances are it is the cooling fan relay. You can test the relay by grounding the Yellow and the Yellow/White wires one at a time. I can't recall which wire controls high speed and which one controls low speed.

The relay is on the fan shroud just above the fan.

Forgot to mention...I have AC and fan does not come when I turn on AC. I couldn't get its MOT because it started over hearting during the exhaust test pushing 2500 rpm. Hope this makes it a bit clearer for you. Thanks again, Rod

Mine did the exact same thing. Literally. Ozark is 100% on the mark, as always :). It's a common failure item.
