Hi all, new to the forum and to Volvo's I have recently bought a 2002 Volvo V40 1.9 Diesel and am generally well pleased with her. With one exception that is I believe that the righthand side drive shaft is on its last legs, does anyone know of a source in the North East UK Durham area for these particular parts? or is there somewhere I can get mine rebuilt?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers John

For good information on anything Volvo have a chat with AVS, Durham. Wayne and Colin who make up AVS are both main dealer trained and have been associated with Volvo for 20+ years. Wayne's telephone number is 0191 3873442. He knows all the good places to buy parts at the right price and will fit them without taking too much of your money.
I also recommend http://www.partsgateway.co.uk/ who are agents for suppliers, not main dealers, of new and used Volvo parts. Give them your requirements and they pass on the info to several dealers who will contact you with prices and availability.
Thanks Bill, I'll try AVS tomorrow, where abouts are they? I tried Parts Gateway but had no luck with shaft for a diesel, plenty for the petrol engines............
cheers

originally of Leeds, but married a Geordie and compromised by living in Durham.............
The two work from their homes, both having large workshops attached to their houses. I have had dealings with them since their time at Masters and Milburn, who were the main dealers before Volvo decided to give the franchise to Mill.
I can recommend their work to anybody, even a Geordie by marriage.
Cheers Bill, Colin collected the car today and brought her back this afternoon . Didnt need a new drive shaft after all just a missing wheel nut, re-tightened a slack top mount, aligned the steering wheels and balanced all the tyres And all for the princely sum of £45.00 . Top man will certainly deal with him again and recommend him to anyone. Once again Cheers Bill
