replaced blower resistor---car went crazy

Post by bob »

94 940 Station wag. not turbo. auto trans
I replaced the blower resistor as I had no 1,2,3,4, fan speeds
only pos. 5 worked. after replacement I checked out the operation
of the fan befor I replaced the glove box and other cover panels-
it worked perfect. I replace all dash covers and started the car to
move it. The left and right turn signal indicators in dash cluster came on together and high beam indicator was lit. The shifter will not come out
of park. It starts up normaly but when I turned on the switch for
the rear fog lights it caused the engine to stumble.

what happened? removed all covers and glove box and inspected,
looking for something I might have pinched or unpluged but don't
see anything wrong. Car starts up fine.
thanks for any info bob

I would take a close look at the way you plugged in the new switch and double check to make sure it is the right one. Sounds like you are opening up a bunch of curcuits that are not normally related.
