battery removal, now ignition is locked Topic is solved

today i installed an aftermarket cd player in my 1991 740 so i disconnected the negative battery terminal. when i finished and tried to start the car up the ignition was locked. is this some kind of anti-theft feature? how can i fix this?

ok i figured this one out myself. there was some kind of anti-theft device that was triggered when i disconnected the battery. i left the key in the ignition between position 0 and II for about 10 minutes. then she started right up!
