2004 S40 T5 radiator fan (relay???) noise help requested

hey, could you point me in the right direction for the thermostat and ECT installation...also where would be the cheapest/best value to get these parts (found one at thepartsbin.com for less than 7 bucks!)
and what temp. should i go for..i see they have 195

ok, i found your post elsewhere...i couldn't find the ECT on eeuroparts website tho. the volvo dealers said they've been having problems w/ after market thermostats and sensors...sounds like standard volvo dealer manipulation. do i really HAVE to get volvo parts? i ordered my vadis disk but of course, my laptop's dvd drive has gone haywire so the disc is just collecting dust. is there any place i can get diagrams and pictures to change out the thermostat and ECT? how bout spark plugs/wires and a fuel filter install?

is it smart to flush the coolant yourself? pep boys told me i could, but i wouldn't get everything thats in the hoses and recomended i pay 85 bucks for them to do it w/ a machine

and what kind of spark plugs would u recomend, volvo of course says i should get volvo parts(i'm thinking about a tune up)..i should get the wires too right? i got a quote of 80 bucks for labor to put them in, worth it or should i do it myself?

sorry for all the questions...i got a lot planned for my baby b4 the summer hits

Your signature says 2004 S40, but that year is a split year...many refer to the new style as the 2004.5. Which style do you have? It will make a difference in trying to look up the VADIS instructions and uploading them to here.

Save yourself money and do all you can yourself- wires and plugs are cheap- The coolant flush is easy enough- petcock at the bottom of the radiator- the plugs should be Volvo or whatever is recommended in your owner's manual. Make sure and gap them to the correct spec. Being a 2004 model, I doubt you need wires already.
