MasterBlaster, welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
Brake fluid is for brakes. The only way it can "stop" leaks in a transmission is by attacking the seals, and swelling them up. They will slowly turn to mush, and one day suddenly fail when you're 100 miles from home.
I totally agree but, as it was a done deed, I didn't comment.

Thanks. I bought my 740 (my first Volvo) a month ago, so I figured I should visit a site or two to learn everything I can (I'm up to 11 sites now, same screen name everywhere). I don't want to "hijack" this thread any further with random chatting, so I'm out.
