850 Front Bumper

Post by glockyman »

My old 850 has a front bumper thats taken quite a beating, what with all the women driving it (joke, haha). Is there a way to get a replacement that doesnt stick out like the 850 original does? It would make such an improvement on the car. Im not a big fan of old Volvos' jutting front bumper, but I doubt there's a way to fix that.

Right under the painted bummper cover is a steel box-beam. You would need to cut the bumper dogs off the frame to allow for fabrication of a roll pan to smooth the lines to be even vertically. Not a good idea unless you are a good fabricator. It would also defeat one of the major saftey features of the car...

Not to mention, Do you really want the grill of the car that much closer to whatever can cause damage to your beloved, trusty, and ever faithful Volvo.
